About Me
Growing up, I loved hiking at the park, reading- especially science fiction and romance- and winning at school. I made Varsity soccer and took honors and AP courses. Within the last month, I have read, played tabletop games, disc golf and hiked for fun.
At college, I fell in love with chemistry (and my husband). What I like about chemistry is that you can win by asking good questions and working hard to solve them. I learned this by helping more advanced students, PhD students, answer their questions by doing experiments. If you want to learn what it means to help PhD students ask good questions, I recommend the anime Ruri Rocks.
I decided to get a PhD, too, and learned how to independently ask good questions and plan experiments to answer them, as well as practice in teaching less advanced students. I loved planning activities to teach college level chemistry to K-12 students and have continued to do this while working at various companies.
